Thank you for visiting and for your interest in a Joiful Shih Tzu puppy.

Please read this page in its entirety before submitting your application:

Puppy weight and color:

No guarantee will be given on the weight of a puppy at maturity nor the color and thickness of the coat. I can only give my best estimate. This breed is known to change color as they mature and almost always lighten more when shaved down.

When is puppy ready to leave:

Puppies are ready to leave at 10 weeks old.  The weight takes precedence over the age of a puppy for the decision to leave for their home. The puppy has to be at least 2 lbs., eating well, and has a clean bill of health from my veterinarian. This is always better for the puppy.   The release of puppies will always be at Joiful Shih Tzu's discretion for the safety and well-being of the puppies.

What we do to prepare a puppy before leaving:

Puppies will be up to date on vaccination, and deworming will be started at two weeks; the puppies will have a wellness check-up with my vet before leaving. Potty training will begin on pee pads and should be familiar with their use before leaving. Puppies will be introduced to grooming such as bathing, blow drying, trimming of nails, and hair around the eye area and paws.  Puppies are also placed in a busy area of the house once they are ready to be weaned to get accustomed to hearing household noises such as conversations, music, doorbells,  and be near the adult dogs. This helps the puppies socialize and get used to daily routines and schedules.

Wait List:

Please fill out the application form on our "Contact Us" page. Once you've submitted your information, we will follow up with you regarding your application, and if approved, we will accept a $200 priority waitlist deposit. This is non-refundable but transferrable to any future litters. Deposits will always be applied to the price of the puppy.

Puppy Hold Fee:

A buyer has 24 hours to place a $500 deposit on the puppy offered by Joiful Shih Tzu and chosen by the buyer. This fee will be applied to the price of the puppy.   After 24 hours, the puppy will be offered to the next buyer on the waitlist if a deposit is not received. This fee is non-refundable but is transferable on or before the puppy turns six weeks. After six weeks, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.  In addition, the Puppy Health Guarantee contract has to be reviewed,  signed, and returned together with the holding fee.

Price:

Puppies are priced between 4-6 weeks. The price range is $2000-3500

Final Payment:

Full payment must be received on or before the puppy turns eight weeks old. Only cash is accepted if paying for the balance at pick up.

Full payment is due immediately if a puppy is chosen at eight weeks or older.

If puppies are to be delivered by a pet nanny, full payment is due when the puppy turns eight weeks old or two weeks before the delivery date. It takes at least a week or two to schedule a flight.

The accepted method of payment:

Zelle, Venmo, USPS money order, and cash

Health Guarantee:

A one-year Replacement Guarantee against congenital diseases that are life-threatening to the puppy. This replacement guarantee does not cover issues common to the Shih Tzu breed, such as tight nostrils, open fontanels, or hernia (umbilical or inguinal). These usually correct on their own or can be surgically repaired during spay/neuter if your vet deems them necessary.

Please do your due diligence and research about raising a puppy and what it entails, and learn about the Shih Tzu breed before bringing one of these precious furbaby homes. There is a lot to know about raising a puppy, time, cost, discipline, training, consistency, patience,  etc. These furbabies will be with their families for a long time, and our goal is to find a loving and caring home prepared to spoil our little ones. We do not want any of ours to end up in shelters, so we do want you to remember that we will take them back if, for any reason, you will no longer be able to care for your Shih Tzu, there are no monetary refunds, but we will help your puppy or dog find another loving home.

Puppy pick up or delivery:

The puppy can be personally picked up or delivered by me at an agreed location and distance. I recommend using a pet nanny for puppies that need to travel far. This service is separate fees and paid directly to the pet nanny.

Fees range from $400 to 650. This is an airport-to-airport delivery.

Joiful Shih Tzu reserves the right to first pick of the litter.

Joiful Shih Tzu puppies are available to pampered PET homes only.

We do not sell to puppy mills, pet shops, or puppy brokers.   The care and well-being of our puppies are our priority; therefore, we reserve the right to refuse to sell our puppies if we feel it's not in their best interest. If the deposit has been made, a refund will be issued. This is the only time monies will be refunded.

Thank you so much for visiting us and your interest in a Joiful Shih Tzu puppy. We look forward to getting to know you and becoming a part of Joiful Shih Tzu family.

If you are ready to commit, please leave us your information about you and the puppy you hope to adopt. The application to adopt is the first step to take. You can find this form under the "contact us" page. We will respond to you once we have had a chance to peruse your information.
